Becky writes about practicing an esoteric art—walking in the Spirit with a God we can neither hear nor see. She shows us how it involves angels and dancing, all in the context of hospitality. Such topics often prove difficult to corral because they do not involve techniques, recipes, or activities and, therefore, quickly escape the scope of people-speak. Her work, however, abounds with real examples of living the art in earthy, practical ways.Each chapter introduces a theme, then tells the story of how she actually learned to live it. She does not shrink back from difficult questions. For example, in Chapter 5, she asks, “How does one get beyond the temporal to what is everlasting?—Much like my little boy discovered the reality of stars, once we moved to Europe: we must get to a place where the unseen is revealed to us.” She concludes each chapter with a couple of 'notes to self.' Chapter 5’s entry says, “For the Dance of Hospitality, warm up by stretching—beyond what is seen by the eye!”I find her transparent style refreshing.
